The City is expanding the garden and John McKenzie Parkette as a result of acquiring the neighbouring land at 37 Norton Avenue.

The proposed design for the expansion area includes a pollinator garden, seating areas and an
expansion of the existing Parkview Neighbourhood Community Garden.  The size of the garden will almost double, meaning we are looking to recruit more people to add to our volunteer group by Spring 2026.

The City hosted an online survey and an in-person community pop-up event in February and March 2025 to ask for input into the design.
